It's almost been 1 week since I started eating really well. I have a holistic health coach for 6 months and things couldn't be better.
Today, I ventured off to Flannerys for my weekly shop. I rarely shop at Woolworths now, only for kids stuff really, like yoghurt, arrowroot biscuits or similar and milk. Maybe some plain mineral water or dog food. Everything else is vegetables, fruit, spelt or similar wraps, organic pasta sauce, organic salsa, organic or biodynamic red wine, organic chickpeas or organic lentils. Even my cleaning products and washing detergent is Earth Choice. Would you believe we're saving money eating this way? I know they say it's expensive to eat healthy but I think processed foods are really expensive! And there's no meat in our home. Tofu rules. As I can't buy organic everything fruit and vegies (because we eat a bit and I honestly can't afford all of the organic prices, only some), I do buy from an independent fruit and vegetables shop with good quality produce. However, as the pesticides would still be present, here's a tip that Jess (my health coach and friend of a friend) shared with me. You can soak your vegetables and fruit in some Hydrogen Peroxide 3% and water, or vinegar and water to remove some of the pesticides.
I feel like donating all of my leftover "cupboard stuff" and I think I might. I just don't like looking at processed foods. I admit, I had a piece of birthday cake this morning at a family do and I had a headache all afternoon :-( just sucks. It is still with me and I can't seem to rid it. This cake was packed with sugar and my body is really not used to this.
So, back to how I'm feeling. I am feeling positive and uplifted eating a great deal of raw unprocessed foods. I've ordered a copy of Chemical Free Kids and I'm looking forward to finding out what we're giving our kids. I just want to know about preservatives really. I think they're the devil in disguise. I know that if Madeleine has a freddo frog (which is rare), she'll turn into that chick from the movie "Possessed", her head will start spinning around 360 degrees and I somewhat lose her in a cloud of hypo-ness, naughtiness and complete craziness. Sure, kids have to be kids, I'm not disputing that!! But I just feel like it's time to know what this book is about (and of course, my good friend Claire told me about it as her good friend wrote it!).
My spirituality is still going along strong and I'm still doing my angel card readings. Actually, eating raw, healthy unprocessed foods has sort of opened it all up even more, it's sort of crazy and I have to really learn to slow it down! I'm also learning about opening and closing chakras and I still meditate through the day. Mary is still talking to me often and I have to venture off to the shops this week to pick up an Obsidian Crystal, as per her orders.
On other news, I'm reading up on faeries, elves and devas. A friend of mine believes in this. I've never really clued myself up on it but it's totally awesome. I love how different we all are, it's truly amazing. I love acceptance of us all and how we're all so different! Isn't it fascinating? I was always very interested in witchy poo stuff so I think it's time to read up on that too! I think I might start with Fiona Horne!
Oh and my babies, they're brilliant. As always. They still remain my No. 1 Priority. Will you look at these pictures of them? They are my light and my life.
Love and light to all of you, post again soon! XXX
