Rosalea Marion Van Luyt

Well well well, here I was having an excellent week with the kids and I get the dreaded phone call yesterday that Rosalea had passed away. She's been my Mum's best friend for a whopping 63 years. They haven't fought even once, now that's a record and a close, awesome friendship that two people on earth have been so blessed to share. Mum isn't doing so well. Apart from being sick with the flu herself and on her second dose of antibiotics, she's feeling pretty low. Death is not nice for any of us. Fear sets in of not having that person physically around anymore. It's almost like they're gone forever. But they are not. They still live on in spirit. Feeling so sad yesterday and my godmother's death, today would have to be the day to celebrate her life as I remembered her, full of happiness and vibrancy, a real funny woman with an awesome sense of humour. I loved her "what will be will be" attitude about life. Perhaps that is why Mum and her were soul mates, kindred spirits. I am yet to go and visit Mum. I couldn't today because we're all pretty ill with colds. But when I do, I will be going through all of Mum's albums with her and picking out the best pictures of the memories her and Rosalea shared. We'll make it a little project I think. So today, I celebrate the life of you Rosalea Marion Maud Van Luyt. I celebrate the way you welcomed all of our family into your home always. I celebrate your warmth and compassion for the human race. I celebrate your generosity and helpfulness with our family. I want to thank you for bringing sunshine into my Mum's life, for all of those years. I want to also thank you for being my godmother and friend. I hope you love seeing your Mum and Dad, David and our dear Dad. Rest in Peace and be with the angels and all of your precious loved ones on the other side.
